I am posting their response below. First, I want to give my opinion.On a personal note, I have owned both models. The Husqvarna greatly outperforms the Poulan pro. First, on a scale of 1 to 10 the Husqvarna earns an 9 for startup; the Poulan earns a 6. Second, and most important to me, the Poulan's vibration fatigue is unbearable after several hours of work. On the other hand, the husqvarna is relatively smooth and creates almost no vibration fatigue after several hours of work. Third, the Poulan has more power; however, the difference in power is negligible at best. When considering the differences in start-up and vibration fatigue there is no question the Husqvarna is worth the extra $100.00. Now, the review. Husqvarna's customer service has been excellent. I picked this trimmer up fro Lowe's with the hedge trimmer attachment as well for $300.It's not exactly what I would call a lightweight model, but let me tell you what. This trimmer is MEAN! It easily handled trimming the shrubs, and has a great long reach for hedges that are tall/deep. The string trimmer is just plain wicked. I'm surprised it didn't rip down the chain link fence! There is an area at the very back of the yard that gets overgrown and I take care of it a few times a year. Normally, I have to go in with some pruning shears. Not today! It easily handled everything but the largest brush and saplings 1/2 and under. Buy one. Your forearms might hate you, but you will love the trimmer. One odd thing I did notice is that the head spins counter-clockwise. It was $50.00 cheaper but price was not an issue for me. I bought it because it had a sturdier housing and the fact that you could put attachments on it. I bought a pole saw and a hedge trimmer with it. an added bonus is that since you can add the attachments, you can also break it down into two pieces for easier storage. now, the important stuff, how does it work? the answer is just fine so far. i was a little worried about how the attachments would work, but they seem to do ok too. the shaft is shorter than the 223l but that is not a problem for me...
