It is a simple to own and operate piece of yard equipment. Cons: none really for the price except cant hook on accessories which wasn't a con to me since i find split shaft machines to be heavier. I spent a whole day looking for a unit to replace my old poulan p1500 and then decided ("after looking all darn day", as my wife stated) that I couldn't find a better price performance machine. So I bought another poulan P1500!!!!!!!!!!!!! 15 of 17 people found the following review helpful Great for casual use, This review is from: Poulan P1500 16-Inch 25cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Curved-Shaft String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio) This is my first string trimmer and it is perfect for tidying up around the yard at home. It is incredibly light so can easily be used without a strap. The D-handle tightens with a wingnut so is easy to adjust to get the best angle of attack for the job at hand. Following the starting instructions, it fired up with less than 10 light pulls. When warm, starts will one pull. The throttle level is easy to modulate and there is plenty of power. I used it to basically blast all the crud out of the drainage ditch in my front yard and it never gave a hint of stalling. Good on gas - a gallon of 2-stroke oil mix feels like it will last all season. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty use, but good for 30 minutes at a time to neaten lawn edges all clear out small overgrown areas of your yard. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful  Regret Purchase and Customer Service, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Poulan P1500 16-Inch 25cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Curved-Shaft String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio) I live in a remote location it which it is totally impractical to journey or ship my P1500 to a Poulan Service Center. I require a trimmer for relatively light work only approximately 4 total running hours per year. I have now owned my P 1500 for 18 months and am very disappointed not only with the unit, but also with Poulan customer service.The "pros": When it runs, the unit is light weight and comfortable to use. The "bump head string advance" works like a charm. The spool is easy to remove and reload and I have had no problem whatsoever with tangled string. The "cons": The key phrase above is "when it runs" which is usually does not. It has been difficult to start right out of the box despite my following the owners manual to the "T" in terms of both starting procedure and removal of fuel between uses.
